The original braid used smaller beads, which is also lovely, but it wasn’t until one of our customers tried using larger beads that this project really began to shine.  When using size 8 seed beads, the resluting necklace is chunky enough to be a good balance for a big focal bead.

This big 4 strand braid also looks beautiful by itself.
